What are some reasons for hair loss?

My hair just recently started falling out and breaking off what would be the reason for that?

My hair is about 6 inches long? What are some reasons for hair loss?
1. Check your diet. If you are not eating a balanced diet, your entire body will be affected, and your hair is a part of your body. Certain proteins, minerals, and oils are critical for normal hair health.

2. Check your stress levels. Anxiety and stress are common causes of hair loss. Some stress cannot be avoided, but you can take steps to reduce their affect on your body. One of these is regular exercise. As well, you need to develop relaxation techniques, such as breathing therapy, Yoga, or meditation. Whatever works for you, increase it!

3. Hair loss can be a symptom of a disease 鈥?Lupus and Diabetes are two common causes. When hair loss appears to have no other cause, you need to check with your doctor. Diabetes and Lupus are more dangerous than the hair loss they cause.

4. How about mom and dad? Hair loss, particularly pattern hair loss, is partially a result of heredity, and heredity from both sides. Unfortunately, this one can鈥檛 be reversed.

5. Fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss. Usually, you will see the signs of these on your scalp. Have them diagnosed and get them treated!

6. Harsh shampoos can cause increased hair loss. There is an ingredient in shampoo which causes it to lather 鈥?surfactant. Too much of this can cause itchy, dry, and scaly scalps, and those conditions can cause hair loss.

If you find that you are doing everything right and have no diseases or scalp conditions, you will want to try other remedies, which fall into three categories.

1. Medicines developed specifically for hair loss. There are a multitude of creams, pills, and ointments available to try. Everyone is different and what works for one will not necessarily work for you. You will need to experiment to find one that seems to work best for you.

2. Natural remedies are available as well. Most of these include essential oils, that is, concentrated oils from specific plants. Provillus is a very good example of this method of hair loss treatment. Provillus is an oral supplement, which works to block DHT, a form of testosterone that is responsible for 95 percent of hair loss.

It also works to stimulate the scalp and bring dead follicles back to life. You can use Provillus as a preventative tool, starting the program before hair loss becomes severe, or you can use it after DHT has already begun to take hold of your hair and scalp.

3. Surgery: There are a wide variety of procedures available to you, however, they are quite costly. Any type of permanent hair replacement will take several months, several visits, and several trips to your bank account. Research your options, and get several consultations before a final decision.Try the least expensive and lifestyle change options first. If they work, you have saved yourself time and money. But don鈥檛 sit on the situation too long 鈥?hair loss can be a symptom of something more serious.

You can order a free trial of Provillus from the source link below. You have a chance your brother didnt have. Help your self before its to late, you might even help your brother. What are some reasons for hair loss?
Hey man,

when my dad died in 2005 my hair just stopped growing and started thinning out. I was losing a serious amount of hair every couple of months.. It took me a horrifying 2 or so years to stabilize but eventually it did.

Anyway, I learned that some of the unnatural causes of hair loss can be (and i believe ARE) associated with external pollutants.

For example: the smog in cities cause a lot of young and old women to go bald or semi-bald. The best way to deal with that, of course, is to leave these areas of high pollution. A simpler solution is to wash your hair after being in a high-pollution zone - every day if need be.

According to that awesome doctor on Oprah (Dr. OZ), it is healthier for your scalp to wash your hair under cold or mildly warm water.

The chemicals in shampoos, conditioners and styling gels are also bad news. So you have to try and use the most gently products as possible.

You may also have had a major fluctuation in your hormone levels. Perhaps you need to observe your diet. And it is ideal to constantly perform exercises that involve stimulation of the hypothalamus and thyroid glands. Yoga is the best possible answer to that.

Otherwise, the more obvious reasons are that you experienced extraordinary trauma/heavy stress or you have baldness in your genes and it is your time...

But I have problems with the definition of an incurable baldness that cannot be indefinitely halted. There is a new treatment on the market called Provillus. Apparently it's outstripping everything that's gone before it. If you want instant (and apparently guaranteed results) that would be your answer.

Personally I would recommend a product called Hair Rebuilder by Aloe Vera. It's a sticky gel which you apply to your scalp every night for at least 2 months. Wash it off in the morning. You can also use it as styling gel.

Good luck
Hi there,

There are a number of reasons why your hair may be falling out, some of these include:

After illness or major surgery

Hormonal problems- if your thyroid is overactive or underactive your hair may fall out

Some medicines also cause hair loss - but usually this will improve after you stop taking the medicine.

Apart from that Common baldness or male-pattern baldness is the most common cause and is usually inherited.

Hope this helps

Jules
the reason for breaking off is -in most cases- just split ends, get them trimmed. Do that before considering any other option and see how it works.

When I had long hair myself, the hair used to fall out like crazy, remember the longer your hair is, the more pressure you are applying to your hair follicles. Also do you tight up your hair with pony tails? that puts also a lot of pressure on the hair, so the roots weaken.

Any other than the above, you could use a shampoo I have used myself successfully called ';Alcepin'; (just google it).

However, nothing replaces seeing a doctor first!
Male Pattern Baldness (MPB) is a genetic trait. It鈥檚 called Androgenetic Alopecia. It鈥檚 inherited from your family. If the men in your family are showing a bald spot on the crown, it鈥檚 likely you will too.

This is an issue men have been dealing with for centuries. According to legend, Julius Caesar invented the laurel leaf wreath to cover his receding hairline.

Too bad Julius didn鈥檛 have access to Provillus in the days of the Roman Empire.

MPB results from genetic traits, and hormonal causes. Provillus can鈥檛 change your genetic history, but it can help with the hormonal causes.

DHT (dihydrotestostrone) is derived from androgen, a male hormone. As the androgen circulates through the bloodstream, it is converted to DHT by the enzyme, 5-alpha reductase. DHT tends to bind to hair follicle receptors,

causing the follicles to sprout thinner and thinner hairs until nothing regrows, and the follicles eventually wither away.
Hair loss is caused by many reasons such as malnutrition, illness, tension and other health problems.Perming, straightening, hair dyeing and bleaching ,hot combing, using heated rollers and hot wax inevitably damage the hair.Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. Well, its natural to lose hair so new hair can grow in so yes, your hair will fall out as time goes by,as long as its not too much hair your losing. It could be due to stress if your going through any at all? Or maybe if theres a lot on your mind?

Totally depends,if its not too much then you've nothing to worry about,if it is then you should get it checked out.Sounds like your ok though!! =)
Avoiding or limiting foods and drinks that are high in alcohol, caffeine, nicotine and sugar can help greatly in hair loss prevention.

Similarly, avoiding cholesterol-rich foods, which are linked to increased DHT levels, will also help.
Go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm鈥?/a>

It could also be a symptom of hypothyroidism. My other symptoms included fatigue, feeling chilled all the time and bruising easily.

A simple blood test ordered by your doctor would identify if your thyroid is the issue.
stress, poor diet, not enough vitamins, and genetics.
If you have recently lost alot of weight, that would make sense. Or you might consider switching hair products.
