Reason for hair loss?

I recently realized I had hair loss. When I pull on my hair gentlely 5-6 would come out. If i kept on pulling some more would fall out. I decided to take a bath, and when I washed my hair I'm sure atleast 10 came out. I never had this happen to me before. My hair also gets thinner. This is the 2nd day of this happening. I don't know if I need more proteins or something. I need help... any advice to how to solve it?

I checked by bundling my hair together with my hand and the difference is... quite significant. Please help.Reason for hair loss?
stress can cause white patches in your hair %26amp;/or hair loss.Reason for hair loss?
Stress can cause it. You should loose around 50 hairs a day, pulling at them just speeds along the process. If you were having handfuls of hair coming out, then you'd have to be worried and see a doctor. But I would say it's simply your hair dying and leaving the scalp. :]
well it could be natural because a doctor said that it is normal to loose at least 100 hair per day so dont worry.Also it coul be that you are getting new hair that why you are loosing it but it is nothing to worry about

    Been on minoxidil ( R0gaine庐 ) for about a year and a half and have not seen even the smallest amount of regrowth that i almost fell into depression.

    My hair only started visibly growing on the bald spot after skeptically trying out the various natural techniques to re-grow lost hair @ http://www.regrowmyhair.info

    I would highly recommend this easy to follow step-by-step guide with pictures to anyone who is suffering from hair loss right now. What is the reason for hair loss and dandruff??

    Hair Loss

    There are two types of hair loss.

    Androgenetic alopecia is chronic and corresponds to a premature depletion of hair. This type of alopecia mainly concerns men (30% of 30-year old men, 40% of 40-year old men and 85% of 65-year old men) although a certain percentage of women may also be affected.

    This type of hair thinning is genetically programmed.

    It is the result of several factors, particularly the impact of an enzyme (5-伪 reductase) on androgens. It also depends on the quality of the area surrounding the hair bulb, especially the blood capillaries and connective tissue, which deteriorate prematurely, leading to an unfavorable environment for bulb vitality and hair growth.

    And Reactive alopecia, which is temporary and manifests itself through a reduction in hair volume. This can last for several months and mainly affects women.

    Reactive hair thinning results from a temporarily deregulated hair life cycle, due to internal or external factors: lifestyle (stress, pollution, and weight-loss diet), hormonal changes, biological clock (seasonal changes, aging), etc.

    Dandruff

    Dandruff conditions result from irregular cellular activity: the cells in the scalp regenerate too quickly, causing excessive desquamation and microbial proliferation, which is often accompanied by itchiness. Stress, fatigue, pollution, imbalanced diets and epidermal sensitivity are the most common factors in the formation of dandruff.

    STRESS is the main reason for hair fall.

    dandruff is caused because of dirty hair.

    wash ur hair every 3rd day. and use a good shampoo and always oil ur hair.What is the reason for hair loss and dandruff??
    Just use a good shampoo like head and shoulders it solved my problem
    Well, if your hair is dry and brittle then it's bound to break off. The dandruff issue is the same reason. Just be sure to have your hair moisterized, but not too oily.
    Hair loss can come from stress and it can if you don't stick to a certain type of product for your hair and dandruff occurs when your scalp is too dry but there are dandruff shampoos and conditioners for the treatment of that.
    main reason is STRESS.there can a lot other reasons such as consumption of a lot of oily,spicy food. no hair wash for so many days,use of shampoos or other hair care products which has harmful chemicals,etc.
    Hair Loss, typically one that is continuous and /or permanent is mainly the result of Hormonal Imbalance in your body. It's more to do with your genes.

    Reason for hair loss?

    I'm only 21 and am wondering why I have so much hair shedding recently. I'm african american and have curly hair and for the first time in a while have kept cutting it to keep it grown out enough to where its not at an afro height but somewhat before that point. I've gotten it cut to keep it at this level maybe 4 or 5 times in the last few months. My hygiene could be a lot better and I've only been washing my about three times a week and recently I've noticed a quite a bit of hair coming off of my washcloth.

    I washed my hair for a solid 40 minutes today and kept wiping away at it and just couldn't get to a point where no hair could be seen on the washcloth. I'm scared that I'm balding. The odd thing is though that I have a very thick set of hair and there isn't the slightest visible sign of hair loss other than it shedding when I take a rag to it or wipe it vigorously into a sink. I can literally try to rip my hair out and nothing is coming out, but if I swipe it hard like I'm petting a cat small strands of hair can come out.

    I'm thinking that it could be a result of having those loose cut strands of hair after each haircut just settling deep into my scalp to a point where its gotten out of control. At the same time though I feel that if this was the case that I could at least get to a point where there isn't anymore hair coming out but it seems difficult to reach an end to it.

    What should I do to find out if its balding or just a lack of hygiene? Should I just cut it all the way and get it very short so I know that there isn't anything stuck down there and just monitor my hair after that to see if its actual shedding?Reason for hair loss?

    Hi, I found a really good article on the reasons for hair loss.

    If you're wondering what causes hair loss, it's important to understand that the answer to this question is hard to find. There are many reasons for hair loss to happen. The most common causes for hair loss are medication, radiation and chemotherapy and even nutritional factors or stress.

    So here we go, in random order; what causes hair loss:

    #1 Genetics aka ';Runs in the family';

    You can inherit the genes that causes hair loss. There is not much you can do about it. However, it's not said that you actually will inherit these bad genes. You may end up being lucky and see your brother or sister lose hair while it doesn't happen to you. It may even skip a generation and show up again with your children.

    #2 Auto-Immune Disorder

    One of the most common forms of hair loss is caused by an auto-Immune disorder called Alopecia Areata. This is a disease that causes the white blood cells to attack the hair follicles. The result is a temporary loss of hair.

    #3 Hormonal changes

    Hormones are responsible for both growing and losing hair. Therefore it's obvious that hormonal changes can cause hair loss. This is the most common cause of thinning and affects both men and women.

    #4 Childbirth

    Within 8 to 12 weeks after giving birth, a lot of women will start to lose quite an amount of hair. Although this situation can last an alarming and frustrating 6 to 7 months, it's good to know that in most cases everything will turn out just fine. All it takes is the women's body to recover from 9 months of pregnancy.

    #5 Prescription Medications

    A growing number of reports warn for prescription drugs to cause hair loss. These are ';every day'; drugs, used to fight common diseases and illnesses like low cholesterol, high blood pressure, Parkinson's and arthritis as well as blood thinners and anti-inflammatory medications. It's obvious you'd better lose your hair then being sick, so don't be afraid to take recommendations from your doctor. But be aware that in many cases there are alternative drugs available that will not cause hair loss.

    #6 Chemotherapy Treatments

    Almost 100 out of 100 cancer patients who have to undergo chemotherapy will lose hair. It'll start within a few week after the chemo treatment started. And no, not just on their scalp. All areas of the body are affected. Most patient however, will notice their growing back 6 to 8 months after the last chemotherapy session.

    #7 Stress

    Yip, it true. Stress can cause hair loss. It'll usually start a few months after a stress-event and will last a couple of months, depending on the impact of the stress-event.

    # 8 Toxins and poisons

    In our modern society, we are constantly surrounded by toxins and poisons that are used in the manufacturing of many everyday products. When inhaled over a long period of time, some of these poisons and toxins are know to cause hair loss.

    #9 Head Injuries

    Head trauma like chemical, severe damage from a blunt object, and over-exposure to extreme low temperatures run the risk of total and permanent hair loss. Wearing a tight helmet over a long period of time is technically not a head injury, but the continuous pressure it causes, can lead to permanent hair loss as well.

    The answer to the question What Causes Hair Loss can be much longer. But in general the most common causes are listed above.
    Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home to control hair fall.

    What is systematical reason for hair loss into scalp ?

    Hair loss or alopecia can result from a number of causes, ranging from the commonest androgenetic baldness through severe systemic illness to hair loss because of anticancer treatment. The treatment will obviously differ according to cause which needs to elucidated in every case before an individualized management strategy can be devised. The common types are discussed below.

    Male Pattern Baldness (Androgenetic Alopecia)

    This is by far the commonest cause of hair thinning and loss in adult males. The condition runs in families and has a strong genetic component to its causation. It is believed to be related to an excess of male hormones in the body (Androgens).

    The hair starts thinning usually around the age of twelve, but it may be delayed up to the age of 40. Up to 50 % of the population may have experienced some degree of hair loss before entering into the 6th decade of their life.

    The main abnormality in this type of hair loss is a more rapid cycle of hair growth. The hair follicles become smaller and the hair is shorter and thinner. They are shed earlier than normal, giving rise to a sparser and lighter growth.

    The presentation can be extremely varied and can range from simply a receding hair line, to loss off hair from the crown and temples, to complete baldness. Very thin scanty filaments may be the only thing that is left in severe cases.

    Female-pattern Baldness

    It is rarer than the male counterpart, but differs in it appearance and presentation. Thinning of hair is more severe on the front, the temples and at the top. Some hair is generally present at the hair line despite patches of extensive baldness in rest of the scalp.

    Alopecia Areata

    It is an immunologically mediated disease which affects roughly 2% of the population, without any gender bias. Children and young adults are affected more commonly. The disease manifests as small rounded to oval patches of subtotal to total hair loss. It can affect of the hairy skin of any part of the body including scalp.

    The hair follicles remain alive in this condition, and there is always a hope. The hair generally grows back, but such spontaneous remissions may come in months to years.

    year ago my husband suffered very much from hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed

    It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

    It worked and still works for him!

    I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.info/ingredients.ph鈥?/a>

    It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

    Hi Jamilia,

    There are many causes for hair loss. It can be because of nutritional deficiency, hormone imbalance, stress or disease. But generally the most common cause of hair loss is Adrogenetic Alopecia. It is the medical term for hair loss or baldness that is passed to you through genetics.

    You can't cure it but you can fight back using natural supplements to make your hair regrow and become healthy again.What is the reason for hair loss in males? Is there a reason behind this? Please suggest a remedy for it ?
    The leading cause of Hair loss is scientifically proven to be DHT or dihydrotestosterone, a hormone that tends to attach itself to your hair follicles and other receptor sites. Finally, your hair follicles get bound and weak thus resulting in loss of hair and baldness.

    Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment of thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

    Simple Food like Fish, eggs, beans and yogurt are rich in proteins so you should try and include these in your diet

    Soy protein (tofu) has also been found to be helpful in stimulating hair growth.

    Here is the list of supplements you need to intake daily in order to have healthy hair

    * Vitamin B-complex - 50 mg. (including folate, biotin and inositol)

    * Vitamin B-6 - 50 mg.

    * Vitamin C 1-2 gms with bioflavonoids

    * Vitamin E - 400 to 800 IU daily

    * Beta-Carotene - 10,000 to 15,000 IU (Beta-carotene is found in green and yellow vegetables and fruits especially ripen mangoes)

    * Magnesium, sulfur, zinc

    * Silica (horsetail) - 300 mg. daily

    * Nettle - 250 mg. three times daily

    * Flaxseed oil - one tbsp daily or one tablet

    Male pattern baldness is mostly genetically determined. As a general rule, it's easier to maintain remaining hair than it is to regrow new hair. However, there are treatments such as topical creams or transplant surgeries that can help. I would recommend asking your doctor or going to see a Trichologist.
